American pancakes

This is a recipe on American pancakes that I made.

American pancakes has always been one of my favorite foods. Or well, since the first time I tasted it a few years ago. They take me back to the USA for a short moment, which is just one of the reasons why I love them. They are also absolutely delicious, so what’s not to love about them?
 These
pancakes were so fun to make. At first they didn't turn out very well, but then I added some more ingredients and they tasted amazing! They are really easy to make and taste the best when you serve them with maple syrup (may be warm), fresh fruit or berries.

This recipe makes around 14-16 pancakes (depending on what size you make them, an American pancake should be about third the size of a Swedish pancake).

You will need:
1.5 cup (3 1/2 dl) flour
1 tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1.25 cups (3 dl) milk
2 tbsp melted margarine
Some extra margarine, for the skillet

Okay, let's get started! Put all the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, vanilla extract) in a big bowl and whisk them. Put all the wet ingredients (melted margarine and milk) and steer them in a separate bowl. Now that you have two different bowls you will pour the margarine and milk mix into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
Now it's time to mix all the ingredients together. Whisk until you can't see any clumps, but be
careful because you don't want to stir the batter too much. From my own experiences I can tell you that if you don’t stir it too much, the pancakes will get a much nicer consistence and even taste better!
When the batter is done it's time
to cook the pancakes. Put a knob of margarine in the frying pan and wait for it to melt. When it’s melted it’s just to put some of the batter in the frying pan (if your frying pan is big enough you can actually cook two pancakes at the same time). When the top of the pancake starts to bubble, turn it over and cook both sides until the pancake is golden brown on both sides.

When all your pancakes are done, serve them immediately with some maple syrup, fruit, berries, chocolate sauce or whatever you like on pancakes, enjoy!

THE REINDEERS EYES ARE SWITCHING COLORS

The reindeers eyes are switching colors depending on the season of the year. The contexture under their retina gets blue on the winter, and therefore more sensitive to light.

It is the Swedish radio that tells about this Norwegian/British study.
The contexture under the retina gets golden colored under the summer, and switches to blue when it gets to winter.

The study was made by studying 50 different reindeers, when some of them got slaughtered under the summer, and the rest of them under the winter.

According to the scientists, reindeers are the only mammal that switches its color of their eyes by the seasons.

The scientists will publish their results in Proceedings of the Royal society AB.

Climber found treasure

                      Climber found treasure

A climber on his way up to Mont Blanc found a chest full of gemstones with a value of two million SEK. The man found the chest containing emeralds, rubies and sapphires in an airplane that crashed about 50 years ago and some of the bags in the chest are marked with “made in India”. The police are now trying, together with the police of India, to find the owner of the treasure. The climber will be the new owner if they do not succeed.

Full metal jacket review

Full metal jacket
Review

In the movie full metal jacket, you get to follow a platoon of men that are going to the Vietnamese war, the first 45 minutes revolves around the time spent in boot camp with the rough Sgt. Hartman the movie opens with a scene showing how their heads get shaved, followed by a scene picturing a speech by Hartman were he does something you will find in many American-made war movies, he asks a random person of the platoon a question about their origins and then tells them what he thinks of it, often with a witty remark for example “-Where the hell are you from private? -Texas sir! -Texas ey, only steers and queers come from Texas and you don't look like a steer to me, so that kinda narrows it down, do you suck dicks?
This happens just after private “Joker” played by Matthew Modine cracks a joke about how the sergeant sounds during his “rounds” this is where we really get to know who private “Joker” really is.
But if you hear the whole of Hartmans speech you see that his intentions are actually quite good because all he wants to do is to train thees men into being the most capable they can for war.

Private “Joker” eventually takes on mentoring a struggling comrade Leonard played by Vincent D'Onofrio, this is something the somewhat sarcastic pvt. “Joker” usually wouldn't fit very well at but you see him teaching Leonard very well eventually Joker passes the test.

In the second part of the film Joker and his platoon goes to Vietnam, he is now reporting for a magazine called stars and stripes that cover the Vietnam war, and this part is quite gruesome.
A scene that if you see this movie you definitely will remember is one where they are sitting in an attack chopper and then gunman is shooting wildly at Vietnamese farmers, and Joker asks him how he has such ease killing innocent people including children, to which he reply “hahaha you just don't lead them so much.
